What is REDBOA?

REDBOA or Network of Official American Bulletins is an organization formed by Official Bulletins and Journals of the American Continent (Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay and Uruguay).

 

 

General Objective

Establish an instance of multilateral cooperation to promote knowledge of the legislation of each member country, relieved the institutionality of the Official Journals and facilitating international trade and foreign investment in the countries of the region.

 

Specific Objectives

To know and study, from a legal, financial and technical point of view, elements that affect the bodies responsible for official publications in each country, sharing models and experiences.

Develop and edit an AMERICAN REGIONAL OFFICIAL NEWSLETTER on the Internet, the content of which will include national legal rules on tax, labor and foreign trade matters.

 

Structure

TIP: It is composed of the directors of the Official Journals of the member countries.

PRESIDENCY: The Council by vote elects a President, whose office is held for two years (non-re-elected) and determines the Headquarters of the Organization. The current President is Mr. Carlos Orellana (Official Journal of the Republic of Chile).

GENERAL SECRETARIAT: The Council elects a Secretary-General (now called executive Secretary) who coordinates the organization's activities, promotes international conventions (OAS) and conducts comparative studies. The current Secretary-General is Mr. Alejandro López G (Official Journal of the Federation – Mexico).

INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS SECRETARIAT: The Council elects a Secretary of International Relations who will be responsible for promoting the membership of new members to the Network, proposing cooperation agreements and strategies for the international exchange of knowledge, among others. The current Secretary of International Relations is Mr. Luiz Gonzaga (ABIO – Brazilian Association of Official Printing Presses of Brazil).

ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS SECRETARIAT: The Council elects a Secretary of International Relations who will be responsible for coordinating all actions and initiatives related to the administration and strengthening of the Network. The current Secretary of Administrative Affairs is Dr. Juan Fernando Abellá (Official Journal of Uruguay).

SECRETARIAT OF LEGAL MATTERS: He is responsible for receiving, analyzing and issuing opinions on legal documents received and emanating from the organization. The current Secretary of Legal Affairs is Dr. Maria Angelica Lobo. (National Directorate of Official Registration – Argentina).

 

Initiatives to meet REDBOA's objectives

(a) Promote a climate that stimulates assistance between member countries and associated countries.

b) Encourage cooperation between member countries.

(c) Promote and conduct studies on the publication systems of Member States' Official Bulletins and Journals and promote the timely dissemination of relevant information and the exchange of ideas and experiences through conferences, seminars, conferences, publications and other appropriate means.

(d) Develop specialized technical assistance programmes related to the particular needs and interests expressed by member countries through technical cooperation activities, temporary staff exchange, coordination of requests from external technical experts and other means deemed appropriate.

(e) Collaborate with other organizations where it is in REDBOA's interest.

(f) Conclude agreements with international bodies.
